Orascom Housing Communities is an affordable housing home builder, engaged in developing fully integrated communities. Omar Elhitamy was appointed Managing Director in 2006, charged with managing/coordinating the different aspects of the business. Together with the Board, he sets the strategic goals for Enhancement of Integrated Services and Waste Recycling and translates them into action plans, handling relations with the government and searching for opportunities for growth locally, regionally, and internationally. As part of his responsibilities, Omar Elhitamy is in charge of the Town Management activities, which cover a wide range of services provided to the residents of the community, from cleaning and waste management as well as general maintenance and security, to education and catering subsidized bread for the residents.

Omar Elhitamy earned a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the American University in Cairo. Right after graduation, he began-working at the Orascom Group, serving in several positions in Technical Sales and General Sales Management. From 2000 to 2003, he worked inn different capacities in Real Estate Development and Investment in San Diego, California.
