The Enhancement of Integrated Services and Waste Recycling Company established an advanced integrated recycling center in the Oasis Roan located in 6th of October City. The project is implemented on a total 6 feddans and is considered an extension to the integrated solid waste management system which aims at the elimination of waste and reaching the visionary goal of Zero Waste while creating employment opportunities for the youth.

  • Organic Composting Unit
Organic compost unit using fermentation antenna technology; composting biodegrades organic waste is produced using food and agricultural waste that are crushed, mixed and dried together using the fermentation antenna method.

  • Vermicomposting
Worm composting unit: Worm composting is a method for recycling food waste into a high quality, earth-smelling soil conditioner compost.

We established a shelter that has around 32,000 worms that we feed with vegetables and fruits leftovers, (1,000 warms x 0.5 kilo leftover / per week = 1.0 kilo composting every  3 to 4 months). The process involves placing worms into bins or piles of organic waste, which is digested by the worms; the process resulting castings are collected and sold as fertilizer. This can be done on both small ad large scales, from household level to a farm and business level.

  • Silica Plast Recycling Unit
The Silica plast recycling unit utilizes plastic rejects to produce construction materials such as bricks (100cm x 140cm) using the plastic crusher, agglomeration machines, heat furnace and a hydraulic press. The products of this unit varies in sizes and shapes.

  • Construction
The construction recycling waste unit is the latest at the center where recoverable waste materials generated during construction and remodeling are recycled into bricks and paving materials. The process has three phases:

    • Crushing and grinding waste using the crusher and granulating machines.

    • Mixing crushed plastic (90%) with cement (10%) and water in the mixing machine.

    • The mixture is pressed using the hydraulic press to produce high quality bricks that is used in building walls.

The Enhancement of Integrated Services and Waste Recycling Company has  reached a percentage of recycling of 80% of generated waste in addition to creating employment opportunities, and using recyclable materials to reduce the amounts of disposed waste into landfills.
